plus they have been developing play-back products as well. Though if Wave-editor does deliver 100% reliable DDP then thats a great thing as everyone could realistically afford the $79. Without the ability to check and verify the DDP files in another app i'm not 100% confident in using the lower cost apps. Occasionally clients come back asking about DDP because the pressing plant have asked for it. most clients don't understand it and feel safer with hardware in their hand that they can check. Personally i haven't been in a rush to adopt DDP. Unless you're up for spending $600 for PMCD and the open option, then Wave editor from audiofile-engineering is the best thing at $79 Being that one is based on high mass (the hofa basstrap doesn't have a wood membrane or anything, it's super stuffed with high density wool as far as it goes and then it's pressed to make room for even more according to the details they gave me via e-mail) and the other EQ Acoustics option has a membrane. The pressing plants make it very clear they except no responsibility for any errors!! I haven't tried sending a DDP from the new Waveburner in L9 yet but all previous version we're very much hit and miss and i would never risk sending a DDP to press from Waveburner.

No more DDP files for me from WaveBurner.

What’s new in version 1.6.1 Updated on Version 1.6.1: This update improves stability and provides numerous fixes.

Every DDP file I sent to the plant has had problems with the CD-TEXT data. WaveBurner 1.6 also has major interface enhancements like Mix Lane, which gives you a real-time graphic visualization of all your edits, including region and parameter changes. I have used WaveBurner for years and recently updated to the latest version specifically for the DDP export.
